Re: Help with dreaded fuel gauge issues
It may be that having done the piezo thing the resistance in the sense track is now different, so it may need recalibrating. If you know someone with a GS-911 they can do this for you. You have to remove the strip from the tank and dry it, then plug it back in (but not in the tank, unless you have ...

Re: Help with dreaded fuel gauge issues
Annoyingly that’s only for the US, no idea how it’s a product recall in the US and £300 a time in the UK, but that’s how it is.

Help with dreaded fuel gauge issues
So after 99000 miles I’ve got the dreaded fuel gauge problem. Filled up one day, hit a few potholes as our roads are crap, may or maybe not be related..... start the bike next day and the fuel gauge shows zero, light flashing and hazard triangle on. Bike still running fine. Spent hours reading about...

Re: 2009 1200rt esa, shock problem
This thread from BMWLT, https://www.bmwlt.com/forums/rt-series/45201-ohlins-esa.html suggests that, "Installing Ohlins will remove ESA function." That's what I'm wondering. And I do know exactly how it should operate, but when stationary my button does not change the esa helmet display, I...

2009 1200rt esa, shock problem
I've had my bike a few months now and the only issue is the pre load will not change. Holding the button has zero effect. I tried applying 12v directly to the 2 pin connector in the motor nothing happens other than sparks on the battery, in addition the resistance across those 2 pins is less than 1o...

Re: Engine Management Light and Reduced Power
The first fault on my 2018MY RT occured yesterday with 11k miles on the odometer. 50 miles into the journey and travelling at about 40mph, the engine noticeably lost power and the engine management light came on. Pulled over and the engine tick over was slightly higher than normal. I turned off the...

Re: New 2009 model owner with top box question
Just thinking outside the square, you only want a topbox for a backrest? Have you considered just looking for a dedicated backrest for your model bike? I have no idea if they exist or not, but ya never know! Sent from my LG-H990 using Tapatalk I have indeed, but they only seem available in the US, ...

New 2009 model owner with top box question
Hi,[/size] New owner here, all of a week, loving the new bike but have a Top|Box question. They are hideously expensive so as I only really want it for the backrest for my wife does anybody know which, if any other BMW models boxes will fit the 1200RT, it has the fitting plate, which appea...
