Re: R1250RT 2020 key fob battery change

I'm the second owner - no warranty and they're not going to help me out of the goodness of their heart(s)...I've already discussed it with them and they suggested a new ($400CAD) FOB...  I might dismantle it one day and look for a poor solder connection perhaps making a constant circuit (bu...

Re: R1250RT 2020 key fob battery change

Regarding battery life expectancy - mine needs to be replace every 2 to 3 months (which seems far too soon).  Obviously battery quality is a factor as well as how often you/I lock unlock luggage etc...  I carry spares in my jacket pocket, under the motorcycle seat, and in the trunk...

Hex ezCAN installation problem

Just wanting to ask the group whether there's a history of ezCAN problems.  Basically: 1. I ordered and installed an ezCAN Gen I.  It took a long time for me to realize that the ezCAN wasn't working properly (I installed aux lights 6 months later and the intermittent problem became...

Dowco motorcycle cover

For my 2015 R1200RT with the 49 litre topcase - does anyone know what size would fit?  Dowco website says large - that barely fit my 1996 R1100RS with bags and topcase - definitely won't fit the LC RT.  Does anyone have the XL or the XXL and could comment?  Thanks. PS: not...

Re: Going from new to old RT

I have knee problems, so although relatively short (5'9"),I find the riding position cramped. Years ago I picked up some foot peg extenders for my 1996 R1100RS - they are relatively expensive when purchased new, but affordable~ish when you find them on Fleabay. I also had to changed the clutch ...

Re: Protective film

Thanks all - I gave Lucas at "The Tankslapper" a call yesterday - he was very, very helpful.  Bottom line is that I'm going to order the "R1200RT Total Protection Kit Extended Coverage", plus the "R1200RT 54-Liter Top Case Protection Kit" in Scotchgard Pro (glo...

Re: Protective film

Victoria BC Canada.  Snow today (20cm...) - the mbike is safely in the garage (sigh).

Do you know what brand/material he used - are you happy with the results?  Thanks

Protective film

Has anyone tried protective film on their RT?  I read a post on this forum and "The Tankslapper" was mentioned - https://thetankslapper.biz/ .  I'm tempted, but really don't know which of the three options to pick (obviously a gloss option, so it would be one out of two o...

Re: Power socket adapter

Does anyone know what the extra CANBUS connection, under the LH fairing, is used for (as shown in the photo)?  I presume it is the auxiliary light connection point (my 2015 doesn't have the extra lights).  Can anyone confirm that?

Thanks

Re: ebay seller bluerttim (UK)

I'm looking for a set for my 2015; I wonder where bluerttim is getting them...thinking perhaps he/she has sourced from China and is repackaging and passing them on.  I would get a set, but shipping to Canada is a bit pricey... Are there any other sources?  Lots of GS plugs, but the...
