Consider this:
there is a reason that *a lot* of police forces around the world ride an RT.
Enough said?

Re: FJR1300 V's R1200RT
Well, I have ridden both bikes professionally for a couple of years.Sometimes, when available in the station, I could even choose which one to take for the day.My personal opinion is as follows:If you are looking for a somewhat sporty bike: get on the FJR.On the other hand, if you seek a more comfor...

Idea for extra outlet/gps/smartphone..
Got some extra free time and came up with this...
Perhaps there is someone out there that could implement this idea in real life (besides me...)
Take care

Re: Misleading Information from Main Dealer
But one look at the front of the bike, before the purchase (!!),would have shown that the main headlight low beam is a plain H1/55W bulb, and the high beam headlights are plain Jane H7/55W bulbs. I think you mean that the low beam is an H7 and the high beam are two H1's ... the other way round thus...

Re: Grip Puppie Install
Cut them to lenght and use lots of alcoholic gel to lubricate the puppies. They slide very easy on to the handle bars that way.Afterwards the alcohol dissolves and the grips are seated. No need to disassemble anything, no special tools are required. Yes, the heated grips take a little longer to get t...

Re: Seattle, WA - Daily Commuter / R1200 RT
Hi,
You might want to take a look at what kind of bikes your local PD or HP use.
Police over here, in most of the countries, use RT's. 'Nuff said?
Take care..

Re: Should I buy this RT
It would make the situation a little understandable should the bike come with a two year warranty and at the same time being in a prime condition (all the farkles and such). I'd look for a bike with less miles on it. Sure, it could go another x-K miles but it could also prove to be a serious money p...

Re: Thinking of trading the RT for an RS talk me out of it ???
IMHO: Keep the RT. This is an emotional problem. Practically, the RT is the better bike, but funwise you should go for the RS. Mind you, your pillion won't appreciate the new choice as far as my experience goes. You have to figure out for yourself whether you let your brain take the decision or your...

Re: Might return to BM ownership
I am in a somewhat similar situation. Don't worry about the bike, it should be fine.
Instead, go and try whether your pillion is able to mount/dismount the RT without too large an effort.
Given her described situation, that might be a problem especially if there is a topcase mounted.

Re: Route Planning Software - what do you use?
Nav VI with Mapsource (Win 7 pro). Occasionally importing a Gpx from the net. Sometimes OSM Streetmap (runs also on the nav VI) where more specific details are required. I always import a track. I never let the nav transform it to a route. Ok, that way one has to be more concentrated to navigate, bu...
