Re: Honda Super Cub

yes , just bought one as well - between 150 and 160 mpg on the last 3 tankfulls  .................. but you need to understand that a tankfull after the fuel light starts to flash at you  , is a whopping 2.7L  (Total tank capacity is 3.7L)

Re: service costs

Spoke to someone today from the local NE Section of The BMW Club, he confirmed that Mick is not VAT registered. It's all Bull manure - what has VAT registration got to do with a) using the right "stuff" , and b) doing it the correct way ??  (Answer - ZERO !!)  World cont...

Re: High mileage concerns?

Would have no major worry about the miles - provided the price is right (and it's been well serviced etc) . My first RT I bought (1200) had about 55K on it - never an issue

Re: R1250RT Battery maintenance advice

Why maintain at all ?  (here I am assuming you have bike off road for winter !!)  - Just disconnect battery at neg lead.  In March (or when ever )  - reconnect battery and start  . I did this for 5 years (new 2015 RT) , never had a problem , never had any...

Don't be - I had exactly the same from my 2015 RT  - nearly finished off 2nd set of rear pads - front still original , 35,000 miles ... it's all (mostly) in how you ride.

Yes , but ask 6 different people and you'll get 6 different answers !!
(I was getting 7000 to 10,000 miles a tyre.  front and back ... front lasting 1 to 2000 miles longer than rear , typically)

Re: Shift cam 1250RT

I test drove one  - the megga increase in low down torque (on paper) - was not there. Lots more power at top end  ..... which I did not need . I concluded NO  , no point it changing ... in fact if anything my 2015 bike felt better low down (miles may have had an impact ??)...

Re: Topbox RT1250 - urgent!

Any that I have seen in that price range are the older boxes to which the electrics are not readily retrofitted. I couldn't find a newer type box on ebay other than brand new. From a dealer, box with central locking, interior light and ready for the LED brake light @810£. I have a newer box (brand ...

Re: Topbox RT1250 - urgent!

I have the feeling that the light is potentially refittable (fittable) to a standard box ? ..... in that case (if correct) a any standard box off a 1200 / 1250 / K1600 will do your job. Worth checking this  - going rate appears to be in the £250 to £350 region , dear but a lot cheaper than ...

Re: MPG - at the risk of sounding like an anorak...

Average (real) over 35650 miles - is 60.1 mpg  ..... no complaints . Worst tankful 52 , best 76.  Still on original front brake pads  , but they will need changing at next service ..... sniff (2015 LC , previous model , an 08 ? also was about 60 mpg over 30,000 miles approx)
