Top case woes

During our recent big tour I was disappointed to find my BMW system 7 helmet doesn’t fit the OEM top case that came with my September 20 R1250RT LE.  It has built in comms with no after market camera etc.  It means I carry my lid into every hotel when I planned to store it on the b...

No automatic cancelling signal can get it right every time, I cancel or restart mine as the situation dictates.

Re: Air vests video

Like Casbar I’ve been wearing mine for four years, I’m pretty much made up my mind to update to the e version with fork sensor.  It’s rare I go out without but I have forgotten to attach the tether a few times.

Re: SOS warning

I had this occur a number of times on my 2019 GSA and it would only go off when the dealer reset or updated the firmware.  The 2020 RT did it just this week, but turned off again after about 5 miles.

Good luck

2020 R1250RT torque settings required

I have spent  the last hour looking for a table or chart of torque settings for the R1250RT to limited avail, I have found a number of older and similar models listed but not an 1250RT. I even tried to buy a service DVD which might have the data There are a few in the owner’s manual and for...

Re: Sticking Rear Brake - 2 R1250 RT

Tonight I removed the exhaust silencer and rear wheel, which enabled me to clean them both properly.  The caliper floats easily on the pins so I didn’t pull that, the pads were disgusting so cleaned carefully and the backs smeared with copperslip the locking pin cleaned and lightly greased,...

Re: Sticking Rear Brake - 2 R1250 RT

Thanks for all th3 assistance, sadly other things got in the way and the job has been postponed until tomorrow or even Thursday night, but must be done before Saturday when I’m on duty. I dont believe it’s appropriate to go back to the dealer, it’s just a mix of riding in filthy conditions followed ...

Sticking Rear Brake - 2 R1250 RT

I rode my 2020 RT yesterday after a few weeks of it being sat in my garage.  The brakes were free when I set off but during the short ride to work and after using the rear brake it continued to be applied but freed itself before I could stop.  On the way home I followed a much long...

Re: New Member - 1st BMW

Personally I find putting the RT on its centre stand very easy compared with the GSA, I assume because it’s so much lower.
