I do remember that. I seem to think the local Police got rather stroppy about them being rescued/salvaged from the beach and threatened prosecutions for theft or suchlike.

I rode this route with a Globebusters trip in 2007. Few year ago now, but I doubt much has really changed in terms of distance, infrastructure etc.
