Re: Best oil for your bike
You cannot find a better, more highly tested oil than Amsoil Metric MCV 10W40 for motorcycles and Amsoil Severe Gear 75W110. There isn’t a better oil in existence. Google the testing and see for yourself.

Re: Engine Oil (Good Price)
Nothing beats Amsoil Metric MCV 10W40 for motorcycles. Google the tests. My 2021 R1250RT has been running on it since new (starting at 20 miles). For the final drive, Amsoil Severe Gear 75W110 and I change it every time I do an engine oil change.

Re: R1250RT - Factory Fit Tyres
Michelin Road 5’s on my 2021 R1250RT. 120/70 ZR17 and 180/55 ZR 17
I like them for the highway but I’m moving to a set of the Pirelli Diable Supercorsa SP V3’s since I do a lot of twisties and back country roads here in East Texas

Pirelli Supercorsa SP V3?
Anyone run a set of Pirelli Supercorsa SP V3’s on their RT yet? How do you like them? I’m looking for sticky tires, not longevity.

Engine Break-In
Does anyone know the real reason behind why motorcycle engines require break-in and car/truck engines don’t? They’re both internal combustion engines. Both have pistons, rings and cylinder walls made from virtually the same type of steel/aluminum, etc. You can buy a new car or truck and im...

Re: High Mileage wethead RT - Value?
Ask when the last valve adjustment was done and how many times the final drive has been rebuilt, and when it was rebuilt last.

Re: New 2021 R1250RT, What I know
The sight glass isn’t an accurate means to know how much oil is in your engine. It’s only function is to tell you if you’re between the high and low levels.

Re: Hello all...
Assuming you do your own maintenance, my #1 suggestion is to change your engine oil regularly and use a full synthetic. Also, because the final drive is very accessible and easy to drain and fill, I’d recommend changing the gear oil regularly too. I just bought the new 2021 RT and will be ...

New 2021 R1250RT, What I know
The first week has passed with my new RT and over the first 250 miles I can report that; 1. The indicated speed on the TFT is consistently 3-4 mph higher than what my handheld gps indicated as ‘true speed over ground.’ This is true at all speeds tested, 10mph-114mph. I haven’t ye...

Re: Anyone improved on RTlc air filter yet?
Anything smaller than 80 microns gets past the Sprint filter. I think I’ll stick with K&N’s oiled cloth which catches even the finest dust particles.

Re: Whats your opinion on the new 2021 RT?
BMW corporate plays it very safe, and are very overly cautious with their ‘how-to’ break-including because they don’t want people to abuse the bike and come limping in for warranty service because they blew the motor or broke a shift dog. [size=78%]That alone is the main reason f...

Re: Whats your opinion on the new 2021 RT?
I don’t break-in my bikes in the traditional manner. From my research, what happens during the first 20 miles of break-in, is pretty much permanent. I’ve been an engineer for 35 years so I know a little bit about engines and metallurgy. IMO, it’s extremely important to ...

Re: Whats your opinion on the new 2021 RT?
I just picked up my new 2021 R1250RT here in south Texas. I have not gotten aboard it yet because we had bad rain today and I want to be able to ride hard to break her in. The iPhone 12 Pro fits in the right side storage compartment and locks in as designed. The inducti...

Re: Whats your opinion on the new 2021 RT?
Hi y’all, I just picked up my new 2021 R1250RT in Alpine White. It only has 3 miles on it but I’ll report back as soon as possible on anything I find.
