Re: 49L Top Box Install 2021 RT

It will have its own key - since you ordered it with the bike I guess it is possible. although I suspect unlikely, that someone will have keyed it to match the bike key.  If it is different then it's easy enough to re-key the barrel to match yours. The central locking will work provided yo...

Re: New Member in Colorado

Hi, from another Western USA rider (California). Nice choice on the new bike. Aling with other sources mentioned above, I also use Sierra BMW out of Sparks, Mevada. I manage to hit a rally or two in Colorado now and then. I’m looking at going to the Thunder Mtn. Rendezvous in Hotchkiss this Septembe...

Re: Under seat storage

I recently added an SW-Motech Pro City tank bag to my 2020 1250. It perches on a ring around the fuel fill lid. Fitment is excellent. Easy on/off. There is plenty of room for pump, water, glasses, whatever. It is likely the best tank bag I’ve ever used.

Re: Crash bars or head covers?

Have a look at Illium rear bars, you can fit with any front bars. They are low so don't impact passengers calves and they are quickly removable if you ever ride without bags. There is a UK distributor. sportouring.co.uk I just did exactly that. I went with Wunderlich engine bars for a couple of rea...

Re: Can you order a previous year RT model?

You might well be able to find a 2020 model from unsold stock in the USA - ask your dealer to search. The Berlin factory would not be able to build a new 2020 model. I would expect unsold 2020 stock to be allocated to employees of BMW USA as staff bikes. I just purchased a 2020 from my local dealer...

Re: Radiator guards - RT LC

I would think so, but suggest a quick check with R&G, or perhaps BMW to confirm that the part numbers of the radiators are the same? Good idea to check part numbers. So the guards fasten directly to the radiator? If part numbers are the same, it should work. I looked at R&G’s website, and t...

Perfect. Thank you. I think my search error was in the term top CASE, as opposed to top BOX.
Your direction is appreciated.

Re: Radiator guards - RT LC

Thanks for your response. I bought a set of the R&G rad guards on the basis that they’re not ridiculously pricey, weigh nothing and may save me grief one day. I’ve always held a view with motorbikes of ‘What can go wrong will go wrong, at the worse possible time’. ...and now having come to fit ...

Add USB to BMW 49L top case?

Has anyone added a usb charging port to their BMW top case? It’s easy enough with single-wall boxes like my GIVI, but I just purchased the BMW case and tail light kit for my 2020RTW. I don’t really need it that badly since my tank bag is powered, but thought it would be good to have a lockable port ...

Re: R1250 Tank Bag

I had the Givi xs307 15L quick-release bag on my 2014RTW. It worked reasonably well, but there was some interference between the bar ends and the hard base of the tank bag that prevented full lock of the bars. It was only a small amount and I lived with it. However, with my 2020RT, the interference ...
