Re: Soft front brake lever after JUST changing brake pads (didnt bleed the brakes)
The fact that the brakes have not pumped up straight away suggests the seals are gripping the pistons either from dirt on the pistons or dirt behind the seals The pistons should slide nicely and smoothly understood. guess its due time to rebuild the calipers after 100k km on the clock. ty for the h...

Re: Soft front brake lever after JUST changing brake pads (didnt bleed the brakes)
As already said. I would zip-tie it over night before bleeding the system. What has happened is, when you pushed the pistons back the rubber gators have moved on the piston. So when you pull the lever the pistons are pushed out but the gator stays where it is. Zip-tieing it over night will keep the...

Re: Soft front brake lever after JUST changing brake pads (didnt bleed the brakes)
Has the bike got servo brakes, does the situation change with the ignition switched on, pre-ride check completed and engine running. No the bike had the "whizzy" servo removed, after it failed. About a year ago, i lost the rear brake while riding. Wasnt pleasant to realize i had almost 0%...

ABS pump starting to fail? 1200RT 2006 model
Hey everyone, had the dreaded abs light warning come on. Noticed the rear brake totally without servo power (barely able to slow me down). Front brakes still working. Went to my local bmw mechanic. Computer shows the front brake circuit is within parameters, but rear brake is giving the error. Upon ...

Re: Front left brake disc a lot hotter than the right one
replaced the brake discs this saturday, and changed up the brake pads. Old ones were used up unevenly on the side where brake disc was bent.
fortunately brake calipers did not need rebuilding

Re: Engine stuttering/starved when aggressively opening throttle
The new coil finally arrived, so i went to the mechanic this saturday. After replacing the coil and updating software, performing full diagnbistics, the machine runs much better now. No stuttering, can apply throttle as needed. In addition i noticed i didnt need to warm up the motor for 3+ minutes (...

Re: Engine stuttering/starved when aggressively opening throttle
the mechanic pulled the coil out (still attached to the wire),added his own spark plug to the end of this coil, placed it close to the engine, and tried starting the motorcycle.
there were no sparks flying off the exposed sparkplug, so he said that coil was faulty

Re: Front left brake disc a lot hotter than the right one
just an update for those that have similar issues
went to a new shop, and the mechanic checked if the brake discs were warped, turns out the left one was indeed warped.
im mad at myself for not checking that first
ordered new discs, and should have them installed next week

They have ordered the new coil, and it should arrive next week. i also asked the mechanic if he recommended replacing coils on both sides, he sa...
