Re: Software bug on 2019 1250RT

How long do these software updates take? Are they normally done routinely during a service or do they need to keep the bike plugged in overnight ? They can take as little as 30 mins or as long as 6-7 hours, provided there are no interruptions or issues. My understanding is that there's no local buf...

Re: 2021 Nav system alternate.

There are a few options for mounting a Zumo XT or other GPS: 1 - Use a RAM mount via a Telferizer mount ( http://www.telferizer.com/ ) 2 - Use a RAM mount via GS/GSA mirror mount (left or right)       Pipe Clamp Left - BMW-Motorrad (32728534366) &nbsp...

Re: Changing the handlebar angle?

Two options: 1) Have something custom machined like the Vario Ergo Risers - https://www.wunderlichamerica.com/BMW_R1200_RT_Vario-Ergo_Handle_Bar_Riser_Kit_98     But with some changes to the angles to accommodate your specific needs 2) Convert to the tubular handle bar and get a cu...

This is one (if only) advantage to the GoPro subsription... no questions asked replacement.

What's going on that your S22 doesn't charge? I thought it was one of the few phones that actually worked. {sigh}

Welcome!

And yes definitely re: the horn. This is the first bike that I don't feel 100% compelled to replace the anemic "meep meep".

Re: Gearing up for my last best bike. Strongly considering the RT. What says you?

Owned a number of bikes over the years, a few of which were BMWs. The R1250 RT is pretty much a wonderful bike. Much easier to maneuver around than the K1600 but also designed to eat up the miles. Some people don't like the opposing twin vibration and prefer the smoother K bike or Goldwing. I recent...

Re: R1200RT vs ST1300

Echoing some of the previous comments: 1) ST1300 seat height is slightly lower - I could completely flatfoot on it vs not quite but close on the RT 2) The V4 engine is smoother than the RT opposing twin... more buzzy whiny but pleasant 3) The default ergonomics of the ST had me leaned forward more t...

Re: 1250RT LE - Mobile phone compatibility with TFT

Many people are in the same situation. David McK on YouTube and elsewhere has lots of posts on the issues he's faced and had to overcome. He's settled on the Samsung Galaxy S10. Others like the Google Pixels (not sure which one specifically). I would avoid the iPhones as there are issues that I've h...
