Re: 2007 BMW R1200RT - Brake Failure Light - ABS?

I thought 2007 was late enough to have normal brakes, I'd have it checked, might be reasonable.

Re: Route Planning Software - what do you use?

Furkot.com works for both mobile and desktop browser, free and paid $15, there is a support thread on advrider.com the interface is sometimes confusing, but generally handy.

Re: Seats again.

LD Comfort shorts help a lot. I was riding 3.5h twice a week on a seat that started to get miserable after 15 minutes, they let me ride straight though, a tolerable level of discomfort. I bought a Russell Day-Long, and that fixed everything, though the LD Comfort are still good on hot days.

Re: Advice new RT rider

The wizzy brakes are unusual, you have 4 fluid reservoirs, not two, there is a connection, but effort is much higher when they are off, if you're used to ready two finger panic stops, you could have a problem. But, they generally don't die without warning, and are wonderful. I would assume it would...

Re: Advice new RT rider

You still have brakes, but effort will be very high. When you have space, turn off the key and see how hard stopping is, low speed and plenty of space to recover! And you'll probably get a warning light before it dies completely, I hope. Do flush regularly, look up the procedure, easier with a GS911...

Re: Advice new RT rider

Why bypass? As long as they are working, they are wonderful, and you'll lose the ABS. Loved them on my GS. Not that I didn't fear the day something went wrong with them,. In theory, Module Masters rebuilds them now.

Re: Hand guards on r1200rt

So, we need to get Machine Art Moto to add the RT to their supported models? Loved them on my GS, you can easily and quickly switch from no protection to excellent wind protection. https://machineartmoto.com/products/advance-guard/

I've used The Undealership in Redwood City on the San Francisco peninsula and been happy with them, specializing in BMW and Triumph, but they'll work on others. http://www.theundealership.com/

Tapatalk not updating since early November?

I use Tapatalk to read this forum, but it's not updating since about November 11th. I pick "web view" and it opens the web browser with me logged in, so some parts work right.
