Re: How can you get the big C from a jacket?

A couple of yeas ago I bought a Gransfors Bruks axe. It had the idiotic California prop 65 warning on it. I wasn't planning on eating it or taking long, hot showers with it but I had to be warned of the cancer danger it represented. Of course there was no warnings about it being sharp enough to shav...

Re: Cylinder head guards or crashbars

I managed to flub the clutch and killed it taking off from a stop and had the misfortune to also have a patch of sand under my right foot and down she went. 4 days after I picked it up. Scuffed the mirror, valve cover and pannier on the right side. Also did a number on my pride. My illium bars were ...

Re: Mesh jackets

I'm fairly new to the world of mesh gear. Here in Oklahoma, USA our summer temps routinely top 100°F and 5-10° is not uncommon in July and August and the relative humidity will run 50% or higher, it's kind of like trying to breath hot soup some days. I picked up a Sedici Marco Mesh jacket in Sand/Bl...

Re: Helmet intercom system

We had a set of old Cardo Scala Riders we got back in 2011. Pretty basic but worked good, we really enjoyed being able to have a conversation with out yelling back and forth at each other. Wouldn't really want to ride two-up with out an intercom.  When I bought the RT last month I dug them ...

Re: Typical wait for service in the US?

I figured I'd let them do the first one in case I have any squawks I want addressed, don't have any yet though. I'll start doing my own. So far the service dept. hasn't impressed me. Even though they did get my rear tire replaced same day after estimating 2-3 days they still managed to scratch the r...

Typical wait for service in the US?

Scheduled my 600 mile service for my new RT. The earliest available appointment is June 4th for a "while you wait" job.
Or, I can drop it off and wait for them to fit it in, might take a week or so.
Is this typical of service in the US or did I choose my dealership poorly?

Re: Ilium crash bars

Wonder if California environmental regulations made them change their processes.
Not trying to be political, just that some of the chemical processes that used to work really well also relied on some potentially seriously nasty compounds.

Ilium crash bars

Just finished installing front and rear crash bars and aux light brackets from Ilium Works on my new '22 RT. My opinion is that they appear to be a well made piece of gear. The included printed instructions were barely adequate but they included the advice to view their youtube install videos which ...

Re: If it weren't for bad luck...

Pulled the wheel off yesterday morning and took it in to the dealer. They wouldn't repair it but did have a replacement in stock. Told me they wouldn't be able to get to it yesterday so I headed home. It's a 50 mile drive. Got almost home and they called to let me know they'd been able to get it cha...

Larry try Talimena Scenic Drive, one of my favorites when in that area. I've run Talimena Drive many times, planning on a return trip this Spring before the Summer heat sets in. It's a 150 mile ride down to Talihina from my place. We usually make a 3 day trip out of it and hotel in McAlester. Wande...

Re: If it weren't for bad luck...

No twisties in Oklahoma, everything is exactly flat and straight. We don't even have to deal with that whole curvature of the earth thing here. The rumors of twisty roads in the western Ozark mountains here in the Northeastern part of the state are as untrue as the stories of curving roads from the ...

If it weren't for bad luck...

Picked up the new RT on the 14th of April. Weather hasn't been real great so not as much riding as I'd like. On top of the lousy weather my grandkids shared their flu with us when they visited on Easter Sunday so I was down with the flu for a week and I was taking care of the wife even when I was ge...
