Re: Water Running Down the Inside of Visor.
I know it was a long time ago that I posted the original question, but the answer was ultimately quite simple, take the whole damned thing off, visor, flip up chin bar and all and reassemble it properly. I now have a visor that (as long as it's clicked closed) is water tight. Obviously all bets are ...

Specks of Tar.
I gave my R1250RT a panels off really good wash today and noticed quite a lot of specks of black tar stuck to the (silver) engine case, rims and assorted other places. I know the likes of Autoglym sell 'Tar Remover' but before I buy some of theirs (or similar), can the hive mind confirm it's okay to...

Re: Location of Photosensor for DRL / Low Beam
I've got to admit that I also thought it might be the weather, but I didn't think it'd been that dull and there have been plenty of other times I've had it the other way round when I've manually put the lights on because I thought, hey, it's getting a bit dark & drab here, I want proper lights o...

Location of Photosensor for DRL / Low Beam
Hi All, I know it's been a bit grey & overcast over the last few days but my '18 R1250RT currently seems rather keen on automatically switching the low beam rather than having the DRLs on. My manual tells me there is a photosensor within the dashboard (top RH corner next to about the 4,500rpm po...

Re: Bike doesn't start after refueling
I had exactly this same problem not long after I got my '18 R1250RT in early '22. The bike would start at home just fine but sometimes, more often than not after I'd refuelled on the way out (but not always) the bike would act like it had a flat battery. Leave it for a bit and it'd start like there'...

If it's the right size I've recently put a Richa one piece oversuit for sale in the erm, for sale section. Happy to let it go a bit cheaper to a well know member of our little gang.

"and uses 3m sticky," Modern glues can be good, I mean they bond aircraft together nowadays, but is sticky tape really designed to be used in the open, exposed to sun (with its associated UV degeneration), wind, rain and washed (even if only inadvertently) the aggressive chemical they use ...

Cleaning Visors & Pinlocks
Hi All, A question or two for the hive mind about visors. Question 1. When I'm at home I clean the outside of my visor I uses some MucOff or similar spray on cleaner, then give it an application Nikwax Visor Proof to give it a degree of water repellency as a just in case but ready for the next time ...

Re: 2020 Stock Horn is an embarrassment on this bike!
I swapped mine to a Denali Mini Sound Bomb, and it's very loud. You do have to be careful with the fitting position if your still fitting it between the forks as the Denali horn is wider than the OEM unit, but it does clear the forks in both directions (just) if you get it right.

The BMW guy who sold me it said that he keeps it between 4500 and 6000. What a load of codswallop when talking about an R1250RT. Keeping to mid reves might be the case for a M1000 something, Fireblade or R1, but look at what your riding, the RT is a big torquey engined twin. The torque curve of an ...

Re: How easy it REALLY is to install EzCan/CanSmart
b- Is connecting the EzCan to the CanBus sufficient for you to be able to program existing lights and auxiliary devices, or does one need to rewire everything through EzCan and basically throw away all the current wiring for front and back lights, horn, and auxiliary, etc. (I know horn keeps its cu...

Re: I want an RT 1250, any advice?
For the size of the machine, bar risers, lowered footpegs and alternative screens are remarkably popular. That's not to say the ergonomics are bad, more like if you're 6ft or taller improvements can be made. I've just been looking at bar risers for a cast bar model and some of them ain't cheap, plus...
