Re: Wardrobe clear out!

I'm clearly VERY sad, although in my defence, I've only just returned to biking after a 15 year lay-off. (It took me 9 of those years to finally throw away the bike gear I used to have!) But having only just returned, I literally only have: 1 x helmet 1 x Pair of summer gloves 1 x RST Textile Jeans ...

Re: Intercom - Where do I start?

Well I finally bit the bullet as it were.... I've actually gone for a Sena Spider ST-1 It seems to have much of the quality of the 50R/S range but without some of the bells and whistles, like FM Radio (which I would never use) and it is MESH only, no Bluetooth intercom, but is a much more acceptable...

Re: Intercom - Where do I start?

After a test ride the new 50R speakers are a considerable improvement on those supplied with my old 10R. The phone and satnav having paired immediately, the conversation and directions were loud, clear and free from any crackle or hiss. 2-up the transmission/reception was loud and clear up to 75mph...

Sounds good, thanks, I’ll look into that too, I’m definitely not looking to break the bank but equally I don’t want to make a poor decision, regret it and end up buying twice….

Re: Intercom - Where do I start?

I note that you're considering the 50S which according to the reviews is the least waterproof of the two although neither are specifically rated as waterproof. Bennetts have done a fair review here - https://www.bennetts.co.uk/bikesocial/reviews/products/motorcycle-technology/sena-50r-review-blueto...

Intercom - Where do I start?

OK, so as I've said elsewhere, I'm newly returned to biking after a 15 year lay-off. When I last rode the Autocom Pro M1 was the intercom of choice  , alas things have moved on in my absence. I've done a LOT of googling, but it definitely looks like a minefield out there.... so on to my questio...

Re: Car Suction Mount for SatNav?

For anyone that's interested, I have only test ridden a couple of hundred miles so far, but (fingers crossed) nothing has fallen off yet! I've ended up opting for a waterproof case with built in sun visor to put the Car SatNav in, and mounted it using a Garmin 17mm ball mount to suction cup straight...

Re: BMW newbie here.

Welcome... I'm new myself too, recent addition of the 1200RT... a bit older than yours, but I'm sure just as much fun.
I've owned a few bikes in my time, but I have to say the RT is the one that most makes me want to go out and cover miles.... you won't be disappointed!

Car Suction Mount for SatNav?

Having recently returned to biking after a number of years away from it, I’ve spent quite a lot (for me) lately, new bike, new helmet, clothing g, boots etc…. So Rather than splashing a load of money on a new “bike” satnav, I figured I’d try using an old Garmin Nuvi from my car that is surplus to re...

Return to Biking

Hi, I’m new to the forum, recently returning to biking after a 15 year layoff! My last bike was a brand new 2006 R1200 GS which I only had for around a year, but I loved it…. So last weekend I went out and bought myself a 2011 R1200 RT…. I prefer a little more comfort these days! Biking has changed ...
