100% wool Berber on half of my garage floor - gas fitter serviced the fire and used an orange smoke bomb to check the flue, half of it went up, half of it came out of the fire.....two industrial cleans later he had to buy us a new carpet.

Re: Backup Facebook Group

I don't want to try to teach you good people to suck eggs but Facebook has a lot of negatives which those who just post pics of their dinner or post pics of where they are right now so they can get burgled easily may not be aware of. FB owns all your content and overall posting and admin rights. FB ...

Re: Rear panniers...Are they really rubbish??

I got a cheap, generic pannier and top box bag set from the bay in 2015 for £30 to use on the GL1800 I had then. Have used them for my K1600 that replaced it and now on my RT that replaced that. In MY side I can fit 1x shoes, 5x socks,5x underwear, 4x T Shirts, 2x going out shirts and 1x going out t...

Re: BMW F800-GT

Not had a go on the F800 series but I was lent an F750GS earlier in the year and the engine was lovely. Lively and responsive and the whole bike was a lot lighter than I was expecting. It's on my radar for the future when the prices start coming down. ;)

Re: Duty & VAT

Overseas couriers pay import fees on your behalf and make out they've done you a favour but it's all about their key performance indicators (KPI's) that are used by them to indicate how much it's costing them per parcel/pallet. A Package held up by customs for duty payment messes up the couriers fig...

Re: Almost here…

Thanks for this, we agree on so many things, even down to the Boots liquid containers! But the big thing for us this year is the compression packing cubes, all of a sudden I have space in my pannier. My wife’s? Not so much, she’s just packed more stuff! :( I'm sure she's mentioned the packing...

Here's the link to the packing vid she did a few years ago https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_pQfcH1TYn0&list=UURy_HGZQnyEA63BaGsLemwA&index=18&ab_channel=TheWanderingWeave I think she might have found other better ways to do this now but from this you can see the rest of the stuff she's p...

Re: Almost here…

We've done a lot of touring since 2015 , most of it overseas but during covid we just toured in the UK. The Mrs likes to film these trips and I'm always asked why I'm wearing the same three T shirts and two pairs of trousers. Those clothes look pretty ordinary but they're from Rohan or similar and a...

Re: I think the R1250RT is for me, have I overlooked anything?

Great post! I'm in the same position, and somehow stumbled across the R1250 RT & have been doing a lot of research. My HD Ultra Limited is getting heavy & I'm tired of throwing money at seat mods, windshields, and suspension to increase my comfort as I've aged & my back issues got worse...

Re: What did you do today?

Revisited the Yamaha dealer again in Portsmouth. Just for a walk around and spotted a Niken GT. My wife said it was ugly, she's not into bikes these days but there is something about it I liked. Now the sales man knows me after the MT10 he loaned me that burnt out the ECU after 50 miles. Anyway he ...
