Re: Bar Risers

That looks interesting and listed as suitable for a 2013 TC. I did look for a longer hose but couldn't find anything. Do you have a link? Not really. I knew a guy locally that would make them up for me but he moved his business to northern Ireland. I could be wrong about the cost. HEL claim to make...

Re: Bar Risers

Just found this on ebay:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/145621902095

Might work on older bikes better. You can probably get a new hose for £30 though.

Re: Bar Risers

Anyway, apologies to k9doc for bickering on your thread.
Those Hornig risers look like they are much better quality than the ones I fitted and I think the 25mm up would put less stress on the brake line than mine which are 18mm up and about 16mm back.

Re: Bar Risers

Sounds like you have made up your mind - why did you go on an open forum and ask for advice if your just going to shoot people down  Here are mine on my current RT and they are fine: https://i.postimg.cc/nrvrbc2M/risers.jpg I did not ask for advice, I was merely relaying my experience yesterd...

Re: Bar Risers

What have bar risers on other bikes got to do with this situation? I have risers on other bikes and they are fine. On this bike in this situation they are not. The hose is about a foot long and there is no slack. I guess if you have a cut in your tyre on the left hand side you weigh up how of...

Re: Bar Risers

That's interesting, I might have tried these next.
I've just fitted some of the cheap Ali Express ones that move the bars up and back. The brake hose is definitely being stretched on full left lock. They'll be coming straight off later today.

Re: Aching bum and back.

I've just had the same experience with my - admittedly much older - bike. I took it away for the first time this summer and found exactly the same issues - pain between the shoulder and in the back side. I rarely do more than 300-400 miles in a day but found that I was uncomfortable in half that dis...

Re: What did you do today?

New tyre day is always a good day.
They always feel wonderful and we rave about how good our latest purchase is. In truth we've just changed some old squared off rubber for fresh round stuff and should probably have changed them a couple of thousand miles ago.

........still feels great though!!

Re: Indicators always on

Once upon a time (we're talking R1100RT) I paid for a gadget to allow me to use the yellow indicators as DRLs. Then a white van pulled out in front of me thinking that I was about to turn left into a side road. This left me thinking that yellow DRLs are not necessarily a safety aid. I've noticed th...

It doesn't matter how many Arais I've had I always think I've broken something when I change the visor.

Re: Loving the mpg

I've had the bike for just over a year and have used it almost exclusively in and around London. It's getting low 40s at best. I'm off to West Cork next week and will be interested to see how it does on a decent run...... and test the estimated range/fuel gauge!

Re: Rear panniers...Are they really rubbish??

Yes, but you lose the ability to carry a passenger and they are too narrow to take a helmet.

Re: Rear panniers...Are they really rubbish??

I agree with the OP. They are not particularly big and pannier liners take away a lot of that space. They have an overcomplicated latching system and are VERY heavy. From a practical point of view side loading panniers are a pain but I guess they at least look ok on the bike. I rarely use them becau...
