Probably best to leave the adhesive alone. On some Hexheads, there was a problem with the plastic flange cracking and leaking, a reinforcing metal ring was fitted. The adhesive may have been used to secure the ring. "If it ain't broken, don't fix it", leave well alone. There is still a ga...
