Re: 1250RT Comfort Turn Indicator Setting resets itself

You’re not alone. When it dawned on me the indicator wasn’t self cancelling any more I asked the dealer if there was an internal software setting they could change. When he said it was user selectable as menu item “comfort turn indicator” I realised I had looked at it but never clicked what it was. ...

Re: 1250RT Comfort Turn Indicator Setting resets itself

If this unintended reset problem doesn't happen on your bike you may have an earlier software version to my 014-013-030.

Re: 1250RT Comfort Turn Indicator Setting resets itself

The comfort indicator is a setting which enables the turn signal to cancel itself based on some internal software logic. The manual explains that it depends on number of factors but to me seems to primarily relate to distance travelled (whereas in a car of course there is a sensor on the steering wh...

1250RT Comfort Turn Indicator Setting resets itself

This issue was partly covered in another post about "Software resets itself" but it is now an issue acknowledged by BMW. My 2023 1250RT spent a week at the dealership while they tried to work out why when I set the "Comfort Turn Indicator" option to ON (check box tick) in the Set...

Re: Nav VI not happy

If the unit is from a production run before about mid 2023 when they did a major housing redesign, then it probably only has a useable life of 12-18 months before the screen starts jumping between menus and not responding to touches. It's to do with the resin they used to bond the screen to the hous...

Re: RT Settings Need to be Reset Everyday ???

I suspect that will fix the issue providing the reinstall resets every possible option and flag. If this were a bug in the software I think we would have seen a lot more posts and the dealerships would have started to experience widespread feedback. My workshop guy is pretty sure it will be a glitch...

Re: RT Settings Need to be Reset Everyday ???

After further thought I realised that my problems started well before the upgrade to 014_013_030 I had to have the keyless ride module replaced in May and it took 6 weeks and the final step was reprogramming the bike using a laptop and software that connects to Berlin (so I was told). Since then I h...

Re: RT Settings Need to be Reset Everyday ???

Steve I understand why you abandoned using the mobile phone option to stream navigation. It is unreliable at best. I use it with an old dedicated iPhone 8 and only for navigation (ie no music streaming). I make sure my other iPhone 13 , which I use for music streaming to earphones, has wifi turned O...

Re: RT Settings Need to be Reset Everyday ???

I have exactly the same problem with my 2023 R1250RT resetting the Comfort Turn Indicator to the off position each day. I suspect somehow there is a software bug that causes this reset at the same time the trip #2 data gets reset. It doesn't reset when the bike is stopped and restarted, just when it...

Re: Best All Around Tire For The RT

Thanks for the comment on the centreline tread pattern in the pirelli Angels. From the moment I saw the front tyre for the first time I thought it was an inappropriate pattern and makes sense it would tend to tram line the bike. That’s what I noticed on first ride and never got used to it.

Re: Best All Around Tire For The RT

BTW. I have since modified my view on when is the best time to change tyres. Yes I can get 15-18,000km on a set but I am sacrificing quality of ride for the latter part of the life due to the squarer profile on the rear tyre. Which is more important the extra life or smoother cornering and feel? Fro...

Re: Best All Around Tire For The RT

Of course you are absolutely correct. I wasn’t saying otherwise. My own observation is just that other factors also play a big part in how much life we get and most postings don’t take the time to explain differences in riding conditions. Riders quoting 8,000km (5,000 miles) from a set of tyres are ...

Re: Best All Around Tire For The RT

I'm not sure throttle aggression is that big a factor in wear on an RT because it just isn't that quick off the mark compared with a sports bike. Its brisk but its weight holds it back and gives more traction. Road surface, speed, temperature, curve/straight road etc are big factors. On rougher aggr...

Re: Best All Around Tire For The RT

Original Road6GT's on my 2023 RT got 18,000Km before the flattened profile was starting to noticeably affect cornering. Tread was still ok as I do a significant proportion of riding in twisties so helps the tyres wear more evenly - up to a point. I liked the feel of the R6GT as neutral and predictab...

Re: Acts like a dead battery but isn't

Have you resolved your issue? I had a problem where the bike start button would not activate the TFT so it appeared as if the battery was dead. This happened intermittently. Then realised the central locking still worked so wasn't a dead battery, so maybe just a degraded battery? No not the battery ...
