Re: 2010 R1200RT ESA Load Issue - Please Help!

It could be an issue with the preload part of the ESA on the rear shock, it's not odd for it to eventually go bad. My RT had the shock replaced/rebuilt and the preload is now manual with the dampening still connected/controlled by ESA.

Re: Fuel sensor strip

I found this... It's for a R1200GS, but hopefully would be the same or point you in the right direction. The attached PDF wiring diagram notes B9220 as the fuel level sensor. Legend is on page 1, I found the unit on the bottom left of page 6 (image edited to save space):

Re: Dynamic balancing

In my opinion, other than making your life easier ;) and lightening your wallet a little, there isn't a ton of advantage of bringing the wheels and tires in for mounting and balancing provided you're competent at doing it. I've done it myself both ways (I used to work at a shop that sold accessories...

Re: New owner!

Most BMW dealers can order you another key if you provide registration or title and ID. I think the plastic backup key is about $85 and a real key is around $120. That looks pretty similar to the tools I got with my ‘05 when I picked it up a couple of months ago. Judging by the second wrench from th...

My 2005 came with ESA. The rear’s been rebuilt and now manual preload (original gas assist was prone the failure), but dampening is still connected and functioning.

Re: Upgrade from ST1300

There is a cover plate that is available from BMW. I believe that it's Part# 46637686763 and ~$14 US. Should snap into place: https://shop.maxbmw.com/fiche/NotesParts/46637686763_1_B.jpg https://shop.maxbmw.com/fiche/NotesParts/46637686763_2_B.jpg https://shop.maxbmw.com/fiche/NotesParts/4663768676...

Re: Grip Puppie Install

Spray the inside with Hair spray, get it good and wet slip it on the handle grip, hair spray dries and assists being a bit sticky to keep them from slipping, Works like a charm, easy to get off when they are torn or worn out! I swear by hairspray for grip installs! Smells semi-decent too, lol. :lol...

Hi from Southern California!

I recently picked up a 34k miles young 2005 R1200RT and have been so happy with the bike. Such a great ride and handles amazing, handles better than bikes a fraction of the size. This is the second BMW I've owned (prior was a K1200S) and only thing close in sport touring that I've owned in 35 years ...
