Re: RT handling
I feel the same, the bike has tendency to lean into a corner more than I would like to. That is when riding on my own. I think it is more for me to get the bike tilted more than it has to be, as I like moving a bike under me. It does not happen when riding with pillion. So it has to be me as rider. ...

Re: Duration of RT Ownership
It is my first year of ownership, 9,000km on mine and 1,000km on rented one on a holiday. After communist two-stroke 350 and Honda 250 thumper, it is the best bike I ever rode (without surprise). The bike is "third" hand, but previous owners treated it amazingly. I've just clocked 30,000km...

Re: Where can I find this Ramm ball mount?
Do you mean this one? https://www.normski-bmw.co.uk/product-page/clutch-lever-ram-bolt I had it one day, but it was a bit too tight, my clutch lever was not returning fully on a sunny day and because of that the clutch switch didn't disengage and my quick-shifter wasn't working. I'll need to get it ...

Re: BMW 1200rt phone mount
I have one and use it. Mine is with inductive charging. Works well with Samsung S10e phone, however... I have removed my phone from normal case and since using it in the linked cradle, my screen developed slowly creeping HW fault that I'll be trying to repair soon. I am not blaming the phone holder,...

Re: RPM Manageme t
My 1200LC is many bikes in one. For regular riding and with a pillion, 2 - 4k is an easy and not threatening the traffic. And when there is no elevation.
However, the beast that wakes up under me once I pass 5000rpm is addictive, especially when the road begins to rise upwards.

I've seen on YT a lazy Suzan mechanism/bearings mounted on two sheets of plywood, but the user had lighter bike.

Re: What did you do today?
It was windy with showers, so I went out for a short ride to ride in a rain during daylight, to practice. And I've experienced my first wheel-spin, when leaving traffic lights, so practice ride well worth it. It softened all the flies that were left of the Blue Motor Whale, so I could clean the fron...

Re: Hill start control
The pull on the front brake lever is not only firm, but also very quick.
I've used it a few times, but I would have used it more, if it stayed engaged with the site-stand down, due to having ramp in front of the gate.

Spill-proof cup holder - https://rammount.com/products/ram-b-132bu. I have a search saved for it on fleabay. Our second office is 2 hours away, which would make for perfect time to sip my morning brew.

Re: Two day owner grumbles and gripes
Phone Mount note here: I bought the "flea-bay" induction Nav-mounted holder, and it hasn't skipped a beat in 7,000km over my few months of ownership. I use google maps, blue-tooth to headset, GPS logger and sometimes play music, and it still provides enough power to charge the phone while ...

Re: Rear panniers...Are they really rubbish??
We flew to rent a RT for a week with flea-bay pannier bag and helmet bag. The top box was used only for daily stuff (water, cameras, rain pants, snacks, sun block, visor/windshield cleaning). And we still found we brought too much with us. An elastic peg-less clothes line was an essential and saved ...
