Re: Hand signals?!

Maybe. Never seen it before in GB, completely new to me, especially with the right hand!

I've seen and used the left leg over on the continent.

It might just have been "wow, awesome bike mate" 🀣

Hand signals?!

I've been riding since the mid nineties so I'm not that green but, I was given a hand signal today that I've not seen before. No it wasn't what you're thinking so don't start! I was exiting a roundabout on the sherburn bypass and nodded to a guy on a fireblade coming towards me, about to go onto the...

Re: I want an RT 1250, any advice?

Hello and welcome. I'm pretty new to the bmw brand and the rt. If you are ordering new, I'd go for the tubular bars. I think they have the same ergonomics as the standard cast aluminium bars but they should be easier to install bar risers if needed, that's what I did but haven't needed to raise them...

Re: RPM Manageme t

I'm relatively new to this engine, I bought the rt for the same reasons, I can't be bothered with chasing revs and much prefer the nice easily available torque. I've found anything below 2500rpm and the engine isn't happy. What is working for me at the minute as I'm still getting used to it; 30mph 3...

Re: OMG What is that noise!

Thanks for the replies. I did suspect the tyres being the cause of the noise, just like the gs. At least it's only at speed with the screen fully up, I've found a position midway that works perfectly for me. I think it was the first time with the screen in the highest position at speed, it was a rea...

Re: Garage Floor Tiles

I have the 500mm square honeycomb back tiles. They are ok with the car parked on them but either of the stands on the bike will leave an impression. They do a good job of keeping the dust down and are easy to keep clean, being the round disc style. I would imagine the five bar tread style would be b...

Re: shiftcam engine

Speaking as a short term gs owner and frequenting the forum, one of the problems on ukgser was the engine not starting after being shut off, whether it was after a bimble to the shops or a ride to the coast. I experienced it after a couple of stalls, being new to a twin after years of 3 and 4 cylind...

OMG What is that noise!

I've had the bike about 3 months and really do like it and have no intentions of selling any time soon. I'm trying to get to the bottom of a medical condition that is curtailing my riding a bit but will get through it. On Friday night I went out to check out the headlights as the early nights are co...

Re: Why the BMW RT

I've pretty much always had large touring bikes. Pan Euro, FJR, GTR1400. In 2022 I tried a 1250 GS, I've always liked the look of them, and still do. I loved the way it handled and the torque of the engine but after a few hundred miles I would get home with a splitting headache and, after a bit of r...

Re: Yearly Searvice

I have to say, it's not something I thought about when I bought the bike, I've been out of the dealer network for quite a few years now so servicing wasn't even on my radar. I could have kicked myself when it came to the running in service, I ought to have negotiated it into the deal on the bike. Wi...

It seems like there's always something with the rt! πŸ˜„

I've just checked mine while washing it, after riding on some particularly bad roads last night but they're all intact.

Do you have the adaptive headlight?

I don't and my centre headlihgt is always on, I don't get the angry looking daytime running lights, which is a shame πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™‚οΈ

Re: Putting the bike away

It's not something I've ever thought about really but I can understand your concerns regarding the other bikes. It's a bit of a faff for me, I have a car and half garage with an 8' door so, in order to get the bike in/out, I have to swing the front of the car right over to just about touching the wa...

Re: Heightened seat & lowered pegs experiences?

I've just ordered a set from china. I tried a long ride yesterday without stopping, I managed about 2 hours before my knees really started to complain.

I have the brown 719 seat on high. I would rather have it set low for better flat footing, hopefully the lowering kit will help🀞
