Re: Rear panniers...Are they really rubbish??
I use good 30L dry bags for the following reasons: They fit quite well in the panniers when stuffed with gear. They compress, so can fit (relatively) more stuff into the same space. I can remove them to take with me easily. If I need the extra space, I can dump the contents into the pannier and use ...

Re: Over-filling oil
Yeah, depending on how much, overfilling oil can lead to some major issues, including crank shaft failure and other major internal issues, plus may lead to catalytic converter issues and fouled spark plugs.
Definitely drain off to proper levels.

Re: New Chigee version on the way
This is an absolute game changer for our bikes. Confirmed fits '14-'20 RT, handlebar wheel integration for navigating the system. Full Carplay and Android Auto. $499 and ships August 2024. I'm going to grab one soon as available. This is a Kickstarter funded project, but done by a reputable group th...

Re: Bluetooth Connection 2017 RT
Hey friend. Bluetooth receiver of any kind works well. I use these with great success. Only issue is (with every single one of these I’ve found), you need to press a button to power the unit on. Powers off of the USB on your cubby connector and use the 3.5mm audio connector between the cubby connect...

Re: Carpuride system
Yeah, some pictures included here as requested. You're right, this won't do TPMS, although the Carpuride and some other moto Carplay units have TPMS valve stem cover accessories and can display pressures and low pressure alerts. Does allow browsing albums, playlists, and voice commands to call/text/...

Re: Hello from Pittsburgh, PA!
What sat Nov is that? It's a custom setup I put together using a pretty cheap ($129 with $20 coupon currently) Carplay unit from Amazon. Fits perfectly in the space. I 3D printed the mount to clip right into factory GPS mount. Link... https://amzn.to/4bskEAH Glad to help out if anyone is interested...

Re: New helmet time. Which one?
If you are able, try the LS2 Advant X. I don't think it checks any boxes for the best price, lightest, quietest, best vented, most comfortable, but I believe it's the best combination/compromise when considering all of those attributes. $430 USD. Basic review and comparison of other options that you...

Re: Aftermarket sat-nav for UK RT1250
1- Whether placing an aftermarket sat-nav on the dash is a good idea [VR46 - Sure. The factory equipment doesn't work well, so why not?] 2- If so what is the best sat-navs others have used [VR46 - I think there are two trains of thought here - use a dedicated GPS system (like Garmin), or use somethi...

Hello from Pittsburgh, PA!
Have been poking around for quite a while and figured I’d join the party! Recently purchased a 2015 R1200RT Ebony Metallic and I’ve been really enjoying it. I’m Jamie, 36, IT guy from Pittsburgh, PA. Married, girls 8 and 12 and a two year old boy. That’s about it! Glad to be here, look forward to le...

Re: Carpuride system
I 3D printed an ABS mount that clips right into the Nav 5/6 mount.
Not for Carpuride, but a 10.25” screen I added to my ‘15 RT.
Will share pictures tomorrow.
Glad to work with you to tweak the CADD file and send you one to try if it would be helpful. Just PM me.
