Re: GS1250 top yoke, can be used for RT bar conversion
I had missed the discussion replies, but I did find a very nice walkaround video of a stock RT with the tubular bar option: 2022 BMW R1250RT R1250 RT R 1250 Premium Sport Right now, I'm leaning heavily towards finding a 2024 with this setup. There's a couple on the west coast right now. I'm still gu...

Re: GS1250 top yoke, can be used for RT bar conversion
I saw that Renthal makes GS bars, and they're obviously much cheaper to aquire than BMW's. I was thinking about buying a set just to see what the actual geometry was like in real life, right up next to the stock bars. But that could also be a less expensive way for you to get some new straight bars....

Re: GS1250 top yoke, can be used for RT bar conversion
If you look at the first page part way down you will see Easyriders images fairly clearly 👌 I finally found the thread on it, which has lots of good pictures, by just trawling through their posts: GS Top Yoke Conversion Kit Sorry if I was a bother here. Just really trying to sort out a potentially ...

Re: GS1250 top yoke, can be used for RT bar conversion
That's the clearest pic I've seen so far of the setup. Thank you so much!
So to me, that setup looks higher and maybe 3/4 of a fist wider. Did you find it was too wide for you, or too high, etc.?

Re: GS1250 top yoke, can be used for RT bar conversion
This is kind of what I was guessing - that they would be tubular but much closer to the original RT geometry and general dimensions. It's very hard to tell on BMW's site. The bars are certainly different part numbers between the GS and RT. The RT tubular bars are BMW part number: 32718392389 ($431) ...

Re: GS1250 top yoke, can be used for RT bar conversion
How did this work out? I love my used 1200 but want to get a newer 1250. Was thinking of ordering one with GS bars, or converting one. I'm guessing that BMW will announce a 1300RT at EICMA in a couple weeks, and a bunch of newish 1250s are going to be traded in early next year. Very curious if the b...

Re: Screen
I saw this one the other day, while I was shopping around for the thin pannier lids - looks kinda double-bubble: https://www.motorcycleparts-hornig.com/BMW-R-1250-RT/Windscreens/Windscreen.html Here's probably the one you want, from the manufacturer's site: http://www.nationalcycle.com/catalog/produ...

Re: Hello from the Pacific Northwest
Thanks all. I just rode my Yamaha for the first time since getting the RT, and never before has a 900cc felt like a little dirt bike

Hello from the Pacific Northwest
Greetings all from the Seattle area. I wanted to thank this board for answering some questions I had before buying my first RT. I've been riding since I was 15, and it still took 30 years for me to get that police bike (or that Tour De France cameraman bike) I always looked up to. It's like nothing ...
