Re: Quadlock
Thanks, I’ve ordered a torx socket set from Amazon which should be here by the weekend. I’ve already squirted WD40 on the bolts so hopefully that will help.

Re: Quadlock
I think bmw have welded mine on. I’m currently looking at torx socket sets on Amazon, those that are not made in China

Quadlock
Hi. I wanted to fit a quadlock to my 2009 rt so I can use my phone as a sat nav & to make sure I don’t speed. Their own site recommended the new brake/clutch mount, It arrived today but I can’t see how the hell it’s meant to be fitted. I thought about the handlebar mount screws, but I think mine...

Re: Fuel gauge
I’m so glad I managed to knock £200 from the asking price now, & there was me, amazed by my wheeling & dealing skills🤦♂️. I’ve also got to fix my car, mot advisories, & repair the broken cruise control. At least there’s not a major holiday coming up soon, not with 5 grandchildren to buy...

Re: Fuel gauge
I will phone the dealer tomorrow for a quote, you never know, the repair may be fairly reasonable. I’d still rather have a working fuel gauge than fannying around with the trip meter all the time. Thanks Doctor T, kind regards, Jim

Re: Fuel gauge
It’s a 2009 model, but I will ask the main dealer in Witham, they may be accommodating. I always imagined that bmw motorcycle dealerships were willing to help out in this sort of situation, but then again, I was mug enough to vote for brexit. Thanks again Glenn

Re: Fuel gauge
That looks way beyond my limited capabilities! I don’t suppose a bmw garage would do a cheap easy repair/replacement? Thanks for the quick reply Glenn, I may end up paying a mechanic to fix the gauge for me.

Fuel gauge
As I’ve already admitted, I`m after advice. My fuel gauge always shows full. I zero the trip after every fill, but I’m also prone to forgetting to do this. I’ve seen countless videos on YouTube where guys zap the fuel sender with a stripped down electric fire lighter, has anyone ever tried this? The...

Hello! Just bought my first BMW & opted for a 2009 r1200rt. I thought I’d better join a forum as I will probably be asking for help & advice at some point. I’d rather ask for help from an owners forum than seeking advice from YouTube, you never know if the suggestions there are legit or down...
