Recently acquired a 06R12RT. Drain plug has been over tightened and hole is stripped. Easiest/best solution appears to be a "Piggyback" replacement plug.[size=2px]Problem is that there are none available in M16-1.5 of the original drain plug. This 5/8 is available however. Any thoughts on this substitution? Keeping in mind that the big plug will never turn again, just the smaller ,center plug.
Stripped Oil Drain/Bolt
Re: Stripped Oil Drain/Bolt
I've had reasonable luck, retapping stripped threads
Another option helicoil
Third option is SAE piggyback plug sealed with JBweld
Best option is to remove pan and replace it, or have it drilled and retapped for oversize plug
