Am now proud owner of a 2006 machine with 18000 miles on clock, first few years service history is well documented then it's all a bit vague, appears had a service last December but just engine oil/ filter and brake fluid on the invoice
Good idea to have dealer do a complete service , the whole works ? What kind of costs would be involved ?it will not do much more this year but planning Europe next yeat
Servicing requirement
Re: Servicing requirement
Mileage wise it should have had 3 services, but time wise 9. The 18000 mile service is a small one not covering much more than oils and filters but the 12000 is a big one.
If it was mine I would give it a full service. With a proper BNW Dealer say goodbye to about £300.

Re: Servicing requirement
The Service Intervals are Annual or 6,000 Miles which ever comes first.
The Oil & Filter are changed at either Service & the Brake Fluid is changed every 2 years irrespective of mileage.
This link to Service Schedules (Hex Head), http://www.ascycles.com/bmw_motorcycle_ ... px#HexHead, will help to identify what wants doing & when.
Looks like it's due a 6,000 miles service plus Annual Inspection, https://www.ascycles.com/pdf/ServiceSch ... Annual.pdf

Sounds like a plan, then at least you know where you are starting from.
FYI, the transmission oil should be changed every 2 years or 24,000 miles & alternator belt every 36,000 miles.
