How many Keys

Having just purchased last years model I was wondering whether the r1200rt come with one or two keyfobs or boppers.

Mine came with two fobs

Im in the USA and received x1 full FOB and x1 emergency FOB that must be placed directly above the cluster in order to work. My bike is 2015 full option.

If both fobs are on my key ring there is a possibility of one cancelling the other. My dealer informed me to separate them which makes good sense seeing as one is a back-up (emergency). My bike is a 2014 LC.

Spencert.  That's correct.  How many fods very much depends on spec.  I know on keyless bikes which originally had 2 plus the plastic one are now down to one. Keyed bikes with central locking/alarm get 2.  We should consider ourselves lucky.  Swap to a GS with an alarm you get none.  You have to go through the memory on the wheel the switch it on/off.
