Newbie with question(s)

Hello all.  I am really wanting a R1200RT it seems to have many things I am looking for in a bike.  I have owned many but keep coming back to the tourers.  My biggest issue is the closest BMW dealer is 1.5 hrs from me and is closed on my only day off, which would make it hard to get it serviced, etc.  I am in the Columbia, SC area and would like to know if anyone knows anyone in my area who could work on it and also what is the best year to buy with a budget of around $14k?  Thanks!
