Lower foot pegs

Has anyone tried the lower foot pegs for the R1200RT? I'm 6'3" and would love to have just a little more leg extension, but are they enough to make a difference? I don't do a lot of leaning over so I don't think that part (scraping the road) will affect me.

Yes the seat is set to the higher setting.

I have fitted them to my TC and to a previous '08. They certainly have made a difference for me and wouldn't like to be without them.


I'm not 6'3'' (can manage 6' at a stretch) but find the reduction in knee angle much more comfortable. IIRC they advertise that lean angle is not affected, hasn't been an issue for me. They also help in adopting a more sporty attitude ie leaning forward over the tank, when making progress through the twisties.


Not cheap but very well made and not difficult to fit although a little bit of a fiddle with the springs.


Got mine from Nippy Norman's. Not sure if NN is available over the other side of the pond.

From memory, how easy this is depends on which model and what extras you have fitted.


Adjusting the quick-shifter and the brake lever may present a challenge...

Easy enough on the '08 and '11 TC. Couldn't comment on the LC.

I fitted the wunderlich ones to my 2015 LC  expensive and instructions poor. But excellent quality and improved comfort in the knee area

Well over here, a guy can ride in pretty much any direction for 4-6 days and still be in the same country, so we tend to go for comfort and no leg cramps  :)) [size=78%] [/size]

A real iron butt if you can ride for 4-6 days. 3 hours is about my limit before I need to straighten my knees a little.

I have the quickshifter fitted to mine and it works perfectly just a case of adjusting the threaded bar to suit your new position.  That was the easiest of tasks
