The badge is just pushing in and there is a sealing ring in there to keep out water. Look at Real OEM under Front Suspension.

BMW make a GPS mount that sits on top of the clocks.  A Garmin cradle mount will fit on it.  If you put your GPS  where you intend to you will not be able to see it if you use a tank bag..  Again look in Real OEM Under option equipment. Mounting for Navigator IV.

I've got a BMW GPS mount like this one on my 2012 TC RT, the Part No. is 71607708580, they are £73 from your local BMW Dealer.

I know the BMW bracket isn't cheap, but having had this one on my 2010 RT I wouldn't want it anywhere else been so easy to see without taking your eyes far of the road ahead.

Agreed, a great piece of kit, puts the Sat. Nav. exactly where it needs to be.

And all he wanted to do is take the badge off. That'll teach him for asking.

Hey guys !!
I have just logged back on and seen your further replies....I am so pleased I have joined this...yes I did want to just take the badge out of the headstock but I think I have been persuaded to get the proper bracket from BMW and I can see the sense in doing so now!...Is it easy enough to fit?
I do use a tank bag by the way...so thanks again....
