Just Say Hey

Post by Lifer »

I just wanted to introduce myself and thank you for this forum.

I have been riding on and off since about 1980... and have had a few different bikes and scooters.

I have a Harley FLHTCU Electra Glide... but parts and service in Germany are expensive.

So I thought I would give the R1200RT LC a ride.  I will pick up mine on Wednesday or Thursday this week.

My better half wants to keep the Harley for touring... but I hope with all the extras I got, she will be just as happy with the R12RT.

Anyway... I really appreciate all the useful information on this board.

Welcome  Bet it won't be long before the Harley is history.

Lifer, welcome, I am new to this board as well. I also have a Harley, 2014 CVO Road King, had from new. Been riding since 1980 as well. I have had my R1200RT LC just over a week now. Love the bike, can't see me riding the Harley much, so who knows, it might have to go  :)  Seem like a good bunch on here, with plenty of useful information

Hello Lifer and welcome to the forum. Good luck with the forthcoming purchase! I'm sure that you won't be disappointed with the handling and performance of the RT LC. :)

The backrest for the GTL is much larger than the normal one and on the GLT the box is 3 cm further back because if this. How far over the pillion seat does it come.

It doesn't come over the seat at all.  Look at this picture.

Looks good.  Did you buy the GTL top box or just the backrest and attached it to the normal box.
