R 1200 RT Lockable storage in fairing

Post by Richmac »

Hi guys. Can anyone confirm whether there is just one compartment or two.  I have seen pictures with both!
Thanks.

Depends which model and year of bike you are referring to - hexhead and twin-cam RTs have a single large lockable pocket on the RHS, the later water-cooled bikes have either one pocket on the left and a blank cover on the right, or pockets on both sides if there is the 'audio' option. The pocket(s) on the water-cooled RTs are disappointingly small. ???

That depends what you're used to - and how much "stuff" you feel the need to carry around!

On the LC the left hand pocket is designed for the storage of the GPS which fits in nicely if its a 660, a IV or a V. The right one if fitted has the audio connection leads in it and is not big enough to be called a storage compartment.

I manage to keep a Leatherman and a MotionPro multi-tool in it...
