Newbie
Hi all,
After several months of 'lurking' I've bitten the bullet and taken the Queens shilling. After forty odd years riding, I'm just about to pull the trigger on a new Platin Bronze RTLE.
My first, of probably many, questions is how amenable are UK Motorrad dealers to negotiating discounts? Eighteen big ones is a lot of my hard earned. I will be adding sat nav and the silly priced top box.
By the way, the beers are on me.
Cheers,
Vince.

Re: Newbie
Welcome to the forum. You might find that a discount on a new one is not readily available mainly because the bikes aren't from the factory. You can probably get something off the Nav and a top box though. Now are you sure about that gold/sand colour?
Re: Newbie
Hello Vince and welcome to the forum! Dealer discounts??.....maybe (but not at all common!) at a year end if their targets haven't been met, but as RTman10 says, something off RT OEM accessories shoud be in order. Good luck.

Re: Newbie
Thanks for the welcome. So it seems if I want a discount, I should buy a Triumph, their sales guy (Ongar Mcls) was almost begging me to buy a Trophy SE. Mind you after riding one, I could see why. The new gold colour RT with the black engine and drive line looks great. I wonder if they have gone away from silver due to corrosion issues.
Would 10-15% be in order as an accessory discount, all the bits and bobs are nearly two grand list.
Cheers,
Vince

The dealer took off $1,000 here in the Midwest colonies last month on my new German Racing Silver with a touch of Gold color one.
Peace

I don't think that one has the central locking and the other whistles and flutes. But thanks anyway.DaygloDavid wrote: Is this thread of any interest, bmw top case cheap, /index.php/topic,1885.msg14916.html#msg14916

Re: Newbie
Thanks for the link DaygloDavid. Still a crazy price for a top box, but quite a saving over dealer price. Have you used this site?

No, just providing info. you may not have seen posted by turdbowman in another thread.Vince Prince wrote:Have you used this site?
A written quote from a BMW Dealer listing all the parts required would be a good idea.
Put the part nos. into the KFM Website & see what the cost is.
