Gap under the seat?

Hi, I am sure the topic has already been discussed so apologies in advance. Have put my heated regular seat on its high setting and have noticed that there is now a (narrow but disturbing) gap between the lower side edge of the seat and the bodywork. Thought I made a mistake in putting the seat back and tried to reinstall it twice to no avail. Is it me being thick and ham fisted or is it BMW's design a little flawed? Ciao! Massimo

Are you sure its a regular seat and not a low one??  If you put a low seat in the high setting it gives you a gap or at least it does on the pre watercooled machines

This is why I don't put the Standard Seat in the High position on my 2012 RT, it "looks a bit naff".

Yes. It looks like that. Thank you. Seat will go back to the low position but I must say that BMW could have designed it a little better!

Sorry for any confusion, a 2012 RT (which I have) has a Standard & Low Seat option only, whereas the LC has 3 options, High, Standard & Low.

I don't see how, with the panel obviously always in the same position it would be possible not to see more of it if you raise the seat. There isn't really a gap just more of the insert showing. Quite a neat solution for a seat that allows you to put it in 3 different positions.

3 positions ? There's only 2 High and Low on mine

Same frame different seats adds up to at least 3 if not more if you see what I mean.  Most bikes it's as it is.

What Year is your Bike & which Seat do you currently have.

I don't see what the problem is.  It is a functional adjustment.  It works.  Having versatility often requires trade offs.  Every time you think about it, get on the bike and twist the throttle.  I bet you will forget all about it in no time.
