morning all I thought the Zumo 660 came with lifetime map updates? Don't ask where I got that from as I don't know it's just what I thought but when I plugged it in to the computer last night it was asking for payment of either £49 for a 1 off update or £75 for lifetime updates
Is that the only way to get the latest maps?
Thanks

Re: Garmin Zumo 660 Map Updates
Think it depends on how long ago it was bought. Could also be Garmin wanting you to buy their latest model which will,of course have free updates,
Re: Garmin Zumo 660 Map Updates
If you have the 660 LM it should update no problem. I've had mine a month or so and have had two map updates plus a software update. ???
Re: Garmin Zumo 660 Map Updates
A month or so ? think they have been out of production for well over a year now.
Re: Garmin Zumo 660 Map Updates
They may well be but they are still about. I keep seeing that Garmin no longer supports them as well but I had a software update yesterday, now on ver. 5.10 operating software and maps 2016.20.

Ditto for me too, I've now had my 660 for 5 years, purchased Lifetime Updates 3 years ago for £75.MacJ wrote:I keep seeing that Garmin no longer supports them as well but I had a software update yesterday, now on ver. 5.10 operating software and maps 2016.20.
660LM was not available in 2011.
When updating the device, both MapSource & BaseCamp on PC are updated too.
Re: Garmin Zumo 660 Map Updates
Although the maps might update in Mapsource I believer it has not been supported by Garmin since they introduced BaseCamp which must be about 4 years ago.
I initially found BaseCamp more difficult to use but now easier.
