I am considering adding LED lighting to my R1200RT.
Possibly Clearwater Ericas with the canopener and Billie tailite.
But ............. I hear there is a high frequency whine thru the BT or communications or radio system.
This frequency changes with the dimming of the LEDS, but is constantly detectable!
1) does this "whine" happen with the OEM LED lights?
2) What is the experience with these aftermarket LED systems? Or will riders honestly discuss this after spending $1000-$2000 on a system?
High frequency whine with LED addditions
Re: High frequency whine with LED addditions
There is no interference from the OEM lights. No dimmer but be advised that they only work if you are on dip beam. Set the DRL to Auto and they stay off until the dip comes on.
Re: High frequency whine with LED addditions
RTMan10 is perfectly correct - as usual.
I too have the BMW lights. No whining whatsoever but they haven't been that reliable. Rain seems to kill them. The first time, I had to have the switch replaced; the second time both lights were changed. Dealer changed them with no problem but it does get a bit boring keep going back with the same issue...
