Hi, I'm thinking about buying a bmw topbox for my LC, I've read that the old style one will also fit the new LC racks, the difference in price is considerable so I'm wondering what are the differences between the two with regard to size and functionality? It will be used to lock our two helmets during stops so even a little change in size could make a difference if it is a close fit.
Or is there any aftermarket one which is recommended over the oem?

The old and the new are the same size inside. Event though they are supposed to be the same weight the new one is lighter. Only central locking and an integral brake light is possible with the new one. There is no carrying handle on it either but if you have one wired up you would probably leave it on anyway.
