Whats fitted - Pilot Road 4 GT or not

Post by mlillywh »

I had a new front tyre fitted recently and simply asked for another the same. I'm pretty sure the front was a Pilot Road 4 GT (bike had 4000 miles when I bought it)

Its come back with what I think is a standard Pilot Road 4 - I enclose pictures of the front and back - is the front definitely NOT a GT? I'm thinking no, but need to be sure before I go and have a discussion

You are correct. Just checked mine and I can confirm the tyre should be marked Pilot Road 4 GT. Your front is not the GT version.

Needs to be a GT because of the weight of the RT the GT has stronger sidewalls for speed cornering

On the Metzeler tyres which are rated either C or on the new Roadtec 01 HWM it's only the rear that has this rating . The front on all are not.
