Not on the RT seat, but I've done a couple of other bikes, carefully take the cover off the seat and cut a 1" piece of memory foam to the shape of the top of the original pad, I didn't even glue it, and refit the cover 👍

It's often a problem - the lower seat is lower because padding has been removed ... which makes the seat less comfortable for longer trips!

If the bike is a long term purchase, it might be worth considering having the suspension lowered, and keeping the the original seat.  Lots of people do it on other bikes, but I haven't heard of it on a BMW.  I also have a Triumph Rocket and there are loads of people on forums who've had the suspension lowered.  Might be worth exploring?

Joking aside, I took my original seat and had 25mm shaved off the foam and it made a lot of difference, it is more comfortable than the low one and I kept the heater element.

What I should have done as well if at all possible was to have the seat width shaved off a little. I do find  it a little (not much) too wide.

Ive had a few seats sorted by Tony Archer at Huddersfield I might see what can be done later this year

My legs seem to be splayed quite a lot when I have to put both feet down

I owned a R1150rt and the seat on that was even wider but I found it very comfortable. I am 29 to 30 inside leg
