Living in Teesside, the longest 2 days were the first & last, getting from home to Kingussie & Ballachulish to home, day 1 = 280 miles & day 5 = 290 miles.Peter Baker wrote:Would be interested to hear how many miles you did in a day with how many hours in the saddle?
On both days, the fastest routes were used on major roads/motorways, about 5 hours riding time each day.
Days 2 & 4 were both around 230 miles, with an easier day 3 in the middle, about 170 miles.
Again, riding times were around 5 hours.
Generally, setting off around 9am each day & arriving at the destinations by 5pm.
On days 3 & 4, in the evenings had a little local ride out too.
With breaks, 5 hours riding easily becomes an 8 hour day.
