Congratulations on the new RT.

I use nets on the saddlebag doors to keep things organized.  Raingear, gloves & other useful items are always easily accessed.

This is an outstanding idea! Since we don't tour much I generally don't even have my saddlebags on the bike but if I did, I'd definitely to with an idea like this. Is this something you put together yourself or is there some sort of kit sold specifically for the BMW hard bags?

Those are really cool.  I always have the pannier (saddlebags) on my bike because it looks much cooler with than without, so the nets would be really useful for me.

Are they a specific kit or did you make them yourself?

The nets were generic ones available at most motorcycle dealerships.  I used the screws in the bags when possible.  Short sheet metal screws were used where needed.  Watch where you drill and only drill through the inner liner!

I also did the same to the lid on the top box using the existing screws in it's liner.

Hopnel nets for a Goldwing work very well also.

Hi, They look like Oxford nets to me - but in any event similar are available for about £5 in many dealers (not BMW of course).
Using them in a pannier is a very good idea - they are pretty useless used for their intended purpose (a cargo net).
