Heavier bar end weights - where from?

Post by ds99 »

I am tying to make the handlebar vibes less on my 2007 RT and I think heavier bar end weights will help.

I have ordered a set of these:

http://www.manicsalamander.com/products.aspx

But all is silent from them, so I am not sure if they are even trading anymore.

If they don't turn up - can anyone recommend where in the UK I can get some? Or is there other bar end weights from other bikes that will it? Or can I "fill" my current end weights with anything to make them heavier?

Thanks all

I noticed tingling in my hands after my first long ride on my 2007 RT. As the grips looked a bit worn anyway I fitted some Grip Puppies and now I don't get the tingling anymore. For £16 a pair they might be worth a try?

Yes, I have ordered some grip puppies, I will try them.

I can't seem to get any response from Manic Salamander, so I am not sure the bar end weights will ever turn up.

I have these and can attest they were worth the $79 in black for a '16 RT.  What you're going to get out of these 17 oz weights is a bit of dampening of the amplitude of the vibrations that are built in to boxer twins.  Crude estimate:  maybe 35% reduction in vibration amplitude which is significant for sure and can go a ways to helping prevent hand vibration syndrome.  I put enough miles per year on to warrant this, however if you don't ride much probably not much need.

the manic salamander heavier bar end weights did arrive (£160 inc posting and customs charges!), in conjunction with 'grip puppies' the vibes are certainly reduced, but still there a little bit
