Was at the NEC Birmingham yesterday for Motorcycle Live 2015, Dunlop are now producing a RoadSmart III, as seen here on an LC.

I take it the red is the front and black is the rear anybody know the expected mileage and what's the cost of fitting?

If you would like a pair of these, Dunlop are offering Free Fitting on RoadSmart III's until 30th April 2016.

(The offer does include pairs of RoadSmart II, SportSmart2 & TrailSmart tyres).

National Bike Tyres at Newton Aycliffe fitting costs are £8 per tyre to a loose wheel or £16 "ride in - ride out".

I believe the "free fitting" is on a pair only, up to £32 off is a good deal.

Whilst at NBT yesterday, checked out the tread pattern on the RS III's, they look a bit slick in the centre without TWI's, for that reason, I might just stick with the RS I's.

As discussed in other threads, for the reason above I will never have a tyre with no centre tread or some means of knowing what rubber is left in the centre.

I'm still on the original tyres PR4 GT which fortunately has a good centre tread pattern to gauge wear

Well I've had a set of Road Smart III's on for just over 3000 miles. Out of the 3 different tyre makes I've had on the RT, Conti's oem, 2 sets of PR4'S & these. Must say the Road Smart III's are the best tyres of the 3 makes. Far quicker turn in then the PR4'S, excellent grip & as good if not better in the wet then the PR4'S. Can't fault them!
Why you need tread in the centre to judge wear puzzles me & surely puts a lot of good tyres off the list to use ???

I got caught out with the Metzeler Z6's in Scotland, set off expecting the tyres to last the trip, they were down to the chords in less than half the tour mileage.

Looking to head to Melrose in September, the Roadsmart I's have legal tread left in the centre, if I do get down to the TWI, I'll still have 1mm of known tread depth left.

Agree that this approach may restrict tyre choice, but at the end of the day, tyres are a personal decision.
