Don't think that is the case, the re-seller is not saying anything about performance improvement. All he is saying is if you change the headers and remove the cat then the exhaust will have different back pressure to the original, therefore it is advisable to have the bike mapped. They don't do remapping and if it was a selling tactic, then they would just say, stick it on and off you go! Most Harley owners will understand that their bikes come from the US with a very lean map. Most change the air filter and put on aftermarket exhausts. This requires a re-map, which is normally done via a Power Commander or Vance and Hines module through self learning or in some cases a dyno.
It is obvious that if a bike is mapped lean, that it can be improved as discussed in previous threads where guys have re-mapped without changing the headers. But if this flap doesn't impact my ride I am going to ignore it 8)
