They will normally contact you and offer you extrnded warranty.  I just gave them a ring. Jut Google BMW Motorrad Warranty for details.  Cost is a bit over £300 but that includes Emergrncy Assistance Europe wide.

If your bike was subject to the rear shock recall & it's 24 months old (from first registrartion),  was the warranty extended by 3 months to 27 months, could this be the new renewal date.

Mine is a recall originally registered on 28 April 14.  Its warranty was extended by exactly 3 months to 27 July 16 and that is when my extended warranty started.  I understand that all were extended by 3 months.  A quick phone call to BMW will confirm this for you.

does the warrany have any limitations ? because £300 a year including international recovery sounds too good to be true

Some limitations.  You can opt for an excess to reduce the cost, mine is first £100.  All major mechanical and electrical components are covered but not cosmetics, corrosion.  All warranty work is done in BMW workshops with genuine parts.

I spoke to my dealers who checked their system and said my warranty ran out on the 23rd Aug,  when I phoned BMW Warranty to take out the extended warranty they told me it's still covered till the 23rd Nov
Nice to hear,  I still took out the policy which will start in Nov,  cost me £41 per month.
Phoned my dealer back and it's still showing 23rd Aug on their system

Check its registration date in the V5.  Being a recall BMW should have added 3 months to its warranty from that date ie a total of 39 months.  Any more is obviously a bonus.
