Regional Meets
Following on from the success of the two inaugural meets of Yorks/Lincs & Southern members, will/should they continue.
Regional meets around the UK might encourage riders to get together more often.
If there is any interest, what should the regions be, where should they meet & how often.

Re: Regional Meets
All for another meet, but if its between now and end of Feb probably be a car instead of bike in attendance.

Re: Regional Meets
Was thinking more for 2017, my RT was tucked away yesterday & is unlikely to be seen on the road again until 1st April.
If we do get any nice days, I've always got my XJ650.

Re: Regional Meets
I prefer to ride all my bikes through the winter. Just look for a nice bright day and give them a blast.
They're protected by the ACF, and I like to properly get them up to temperature instead of leaving in the garage for months on end.

It's good to see another winter rider.
Except when very frosty or icy we ride throughout the winter months.
The biggest problem is the salt they liberally throw about, especially at junctions.
But a good cold water hose down and dry clears it away.
We have been known to nip out for a quick ride on Christmas morning, calling into a local hotel for coffee before their lunchtime rush.
Excellent !!!

I ride all year - mind you, I am in the sub-tropical south.
Am off this morning for a visit to Bahnstormers at Alton. Going to take a GS out for a couple of hours, just for fun...

Re: Regional Meets
Another Southern all year around rider here. Use my bike for blood biking when not on the marked bikes, so only thing that stops us is sub 2 deg temps which means we can't carry blood on a bike but can still carry samples, or if you deem it not to be safe to ride.

Re: Regional Meets
Looks like the Southern meets may be continuing throughout the winter.
I'm just a "Northern Softie" who feels the cold.

Re: Regional Meets
I'm another Southern winter rider, commute most days apart from real ice n snow, this will be my first winter with heated grips and seat so much luxury I won't know what hit me!!
Happy for another meet up, I normally go the Ace Cafe a few times in the winter if anyone fancies a decent breakfast.

Re: Regional Meets
If the topic is Regional Meets for riders of R1200RTs, I would be interested in anything between :
Newcastle, Cairnryan, Fort William and Fraserburgh.
For most members that would be the "Northern" region.

Re: Regional Meets
Wow, that's some geographical area. I'm an hour away from Newcastle, would consider heading North for a meet. If necessary, could have an overnight stay.gogs01 wrote:If the topic is Regional Meets for riders of R1200RTs, I would be interested in anything between: Newcastle, Cairnryan, Fort William and Fraserburgh.
