Re: What have you got planned for 2017
I've organised a 10 day break for 8 mates, staying here with our bikes in June.
Looking forward to riding around The Ring Of Kerry, and lots more picturesque roads.

The Black Forest for me in May. 5 days in Bad Herrenalb which is close to the B500.
It's a Pidcock Tour. About 1500 mile all in.
In late August we have a 4 day stay in Fort William. Yet another Pidcock tour. It's a good location to tour the West coast. Should be about a 1000 mile trip.

One month tour of Spain for the whole of next June.
Hopefully lots of days out at the "RT forum" meets
I was born with nothing and unfortunately I still have most of it left.

John, are you planning to do the Healy Pass, it was recommended to us by our hosts in Kenmare.Sullivj wrote:Looking forward to riding around The Ring Of Kerry, and lots more picturesque roads.

Staying at home next year...
A long weekend exploring Skye.
The NC500 with a few mates and then over to Orkney for few days then home via the Southerland back roads. Planning for 8 days.
A long weekend for a Scottish central Highlands tour on the roads I have never travelled.
Hopefully a few 'first Sunday on the month' runs with the mates. Plus an old friend has just bought an RT so who knows where this will lead!

Two weeks across northern Spain, the south of France, northern Italy, Swiss/ German border and back through Belgium and France

If your not camping in Orkney the Ayre Hotel in the centre of Kirkwall is very nice. We used it this year and got a bit off being a group.

Re: What have you got planned for 2017
I'm at the early stages of planning 2 trips for 2017 :
1. Spain - visit friends / family in SE England, then take the chunnel to Calais. Head South West (Bayonne) then go South, aiming for Rota and a couple of days playing at tourists. Home via the East coast of Spain then ride up through the centre of Spain, via Le Viaduc de Millau and the A75 to Ijmuiden for the ferry to Newcastle and the short ride home. All routes "avoiding tolls" apart from the A75.
2. Romania - Newcastle to Ijmuiden, then Prague, Brno, Bratislava, Budapest and Pitesti. A decision on whether to venture on to Bucharest is still to be made. There aren't many tolls showing on these routes but it appears we will need vignettes for Hungary - anybody have any words of wisdom on these ?

I'll be camping, the Point of Ness campsite has amazing views down Scapa Flow & over to Hoy...RTman10 wrote: If your not camping in Orkney the Ayre Hotel in the centre of Kirkwall is very nice. We used it this year and got a bit off being a group.
