Can't find it but last week somebody posted that they had been told there was no longer an oil change done on the initial inspection service at 600 miles. NOT TRUE.
It has to be changed.

Re: OIL CHANGE AT 600 MILES
Without starting a oil war
I changed mine at 500 miles and again at 2000, same for final drive
This was recommended by a very knowledgable BMW mechanic
Found nothing in filter either time(cut open)
Magmetic drain plug had quite a bit iron on it first time, clean at second
Final drive was entirely different issue, black at first change, little better second, changed again at 6000 miles much better.

If / when I can get my scanner to work (I've tried to attach a photo) I,ll post a copy of pages 190 and 191 of my
Riders Manual (04.2016, 6th edition, 01)
I think you'll agree that it can't be read any other way - first oil change at 6000 miles or 12 months.

I will talk to my local dealer to see if they take a different view

What the Rider's Manual doesn't say is, what the Running-in check maintenance schedule is. (click on photos to enlarge).
There must be someone out there with a service sheet or invoice for a Running-in check on an LC since 2014.

Re: OIL CHANGE AT 600 MILES
My oil was changed at the running in check at 600 miles
Vini, Vidi, Velcro....... I came, I saw, I stuck around.
Re: OIL CHANGE AT 600 MILES
I have a definitive answer !
The chief tech at my Motorcade dealer checked online and gave me a copy of the details of the "running in check". Everybody else was right and I (or rather my Rider's Manual ) was wrong. The tech took a copy of page 190 and said he would point out the error (s) to the factory.
As can be seen, not only is the engine oil and filter changed, the bevel drive oil is also replaced.

Re: OIL CHANGE AT 600 MILES
I don't think the rider's manual is wrong, as per the running-in check, it doesn't show all the inspection/service items due at 12 months, 6,000 miles or 12,000 miles.gogs01 wrote:The tech took a copy of page 190 and said he would point out the error (s) to the factory.
