But the BMW one is available to you as explained earlier.  I did see that someone with a car had taken out a policy with Warranty Direct that covered wear and tear.  When he neaded a wheel bearing they did eventually pay up.  His premium was only £78 per month. You pays you money and takes your choice.

BMW Motorrad Insured Warranty

Our policy on wear and tear
During the service life of your insured motorcycle, normal degradation will naturally occur to some components, we term this ‘wear and tear’. For instance, components which are subjected to constant or sustained periods of movement, such as suspension bushes/ball joints and steering joints, would be subject to wear and tear. Dependant on the age and mileage of your motorcycle, we may not be able to cover this type of failure and the cost of replacement will be your responsibility.

However, we have included all insured components even if the failure is due to normal degradation (wear and tear) up to 160,000 kilometres from the date of registration. In addition, if a component has previously been replaced with a BMW genuine part, the same rule will apply, in this case evidence of mileage at fitment will be required.

Have had a quote from Warranty Direct, they started off at £326.00 for the year. (0800 731 7001).
They don't do "monthly pay as you go" cover, but when I told them about the bike usage, they reduced the premium to £280.00.

This is their Bike Warranty Policy Document, https://www.warrantydirect.co.uk/WD/doc ... ?rand=9014

A BMW Warranty for 7 months would cost £225. https://www.motorrad-warranty.co.uk/Warranty

In my case, the BMW Warranty is more cost effective, plus I get £3 per month back from the Halifax.

When a BMW supplied used bike warranty expires, is there mileage and age restrictions on the BMW warranty?

The BMW Insured Warranty is "available for BMW Bikes with mileage up to 80,000 miles (at time of purchasing the warranty)."

Can't find an age restriction.

"Failure of covered components for normal degradation (wear and tear) is also included up to 100,000 miles from registration, for policies sold on or after 17th March 2016 only."

"BMW Motorrad Insured Warranty protects against mechanical and electrical breakdown for a wide range of specified components in your BMW bike and all covered insured components even if the failure is due to normal degradation (wear and tear) up to 100,000 miles from the date of registration."
