factory lowered
factory lowered
I was looking at buying a 1200RT that is advertised as "factory lowered." He told me that it sits about 2 inches lower than a stock bike. No one really wants the bike because of this, hence the really good price. My question is, can this be restored back to factory stock height? If so how much work and money would it take?
Re: factory lowered
I bought a used 2005 that had also been lowered at the dealership with a pair of wilbers.
I didn't like the ride, so I decided to change the shocks. I got a pair of OEM ohlins installed and sold on eBay the wilbers.

Re: factory lowered
The factory lowered version is what is says, factory lowered. It has different non ESA suspention and a different unheated bench seat. It's height is 750mm I seem to recall.
Not a particularly comfortable bike due to restricted suspension movement and it's not difficult to ground bits. Steer clear.

Re: factory lowered
Sure it is but you would loose ESA and any resale value. The side and centre stands would also need to be modified. Wouldn't suggest trying anything on an LC though.
Re: factory lowered
I cut 25mm of the bottom of my side stand re-welded the foot back on and just use a block of wood under the rear wheel in my workshop for getting it onto the centre stand.

That sounds convenient...
